Good morning Facebook. Facebook looks more and more like a motivational poster shop with each passing day (I was going to write ‘like being in Athena’ there but that reference got old after Athena closed twenty years ago, a sad realisation). Some days the relentless cheerful cheese is too much - 'Make today ridiculously amazing!’, 'You are confined only by the walls you build yourself!’, 'Everyone wants happiness, no one wants pain, but you can’t build a rainbow without a little rain!’… Some mornings this relentless cheer, when starting work, is too much to take and I irritably click 'I don’t want to see this’ (and perhaps 'see less from Motivational Daily Love Quotes?’ YES) until my wall is back to miserable, angry posts about politics, the greed of people or newspaper articles I apparently need to read. Hide, hide, hide. Ah, what’s left? Kitten videos and stuff about my friends’ lives. That’ll do fine, thankyouverymuch.
